Regarding Exotic Weapons

They look damn cool, but it means two feats gone. That would probably be acceptable if I didn't already have to spend 2-3 in dual wielding. I thought maybe it would be cool to dual wield bastard swords (no idea how two large weapons like that work with the dual mechanic btw) but now I think I might cut my losses and go for something like scimitars or maces. Half my feats on weapons alone seem a bit too much.
Or am I wrong?
Are Exotic Weapons worth their price in WotR?

If you're gonna dual wield stick with one medium/one light, or two light weapons. Dual wielding medium weapons means A LOT of missing. Penalties are stacked too high.

And Exotics are worth it if they're you're focus. For instance, one of my favorite things to do is grab Prof in a Bastard sword and do Bastard Sword/Shield. That d8 -> d10 doesn't SEEM like a lot, but over the career of your character that extra 2 damage per hit actually stacks up.

Pathfinder is a system of +1s and +2s. Any time you can find a way to stack that extra +bonus it ends up being worth it down the line.

They are worth it, especially since most exotic weapons only require you take one feat, which is just the proficiency in the weapon itself.

why two feats unless you are taking focus in it aswell? if you want to duel wield 2 weapons then pick the background aldori noble and you are proficient with aldori sword, they have 1d8 damage and 18 crit as well as finesse wielding. you will be suffering for AC when duel wielding however so i would recomended taking a class with access to the shield spell to supoort your build.

Several exotics can be turned into martial or given for free. Elven weapons if you choose elf become martial, the aldori background gives you Dueling Sword for free and so on. Several of these gain benefits such as Elf/dueling sword being finessable so you can use dex for to hit or in the case of rogue let you add dex to damage as well. In turn these also have higher than normal chances to crit meaning you can crit a lot of the time with them or wield them as a 2h weapon.

Bastard sword is one of those that's an example of a bad deal it gains 0-2 damage over a long sword and that is all.

In short though exotics generally are not worth the feat cost unless you are a fighter and are swimming in feats.

Not to mention you cast Enlarge Person on someone using a bastard sword it goes from 1d10 to 2d8. That's why it's my favorite magus weapon. That and I prefer the look of it to a scimitar or rapier. I just wish impact was in the game.

Dueling sword is 19-20 crit. I wish it was 18.

The reason for Bastard was exactly that I wanted to take Gold Dragon mythic path to really take advantage of the size. Of course, that is endgame and won't help me for a big portion of the game.

I am doing a "dragon-knight" type build (very thematic, not too min-max, but I'd prefer to make it as good as I can) with Bloodrager as main class, but I am starting to question some of my build design choices. Dual-wielding, especially strength based, is probably not the way to go. A lot of AC will be sorely missed, even though I get shield spell eventually with dragon bloodline. And -4 hit with all dual handling feats when not using light weapon sounds a bit too much.

Oh man, this game makes me so ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ indecisive. If any of you probois had gone bloodrager, what would you focus on weapon-wise? Would double-handling a one-handed weapon suffice?

I like two hander to wreck on dps, bastard sword and shield with combat reflexes feat for good damage output with tankiness. dual wielding can be very good but really shines with sneak attack dice.
