If you don't pick a high damage physical attacker as your PC you're gonna have a rough time on core difficulty. On average enemies have 3 more AC than "normal" difficulty. Meaning your hit chances are drastically reduced.
Key things you need: Heroism Scroll from Mongrel camp, Barkskin potion(found in maze in the library), ring of protection(Go down into the basement and go south to find the Mongrel Brute/Ranger combo), a heavy crossbow, and finally a composite bow(Found on cambions behind the locked door).
Leveling up: Camellia: Grab Fortune's Luck hex, Lann: Grab Longbow focus, Seelah: Nothing.
Equip: Seelah: With ring of protection, Lann: Composite Longbow, Camellia: Heavy Crossbow.
Buff: Go into your inventory and right click the "Heroism Scroll" with Lann/Wendy selected and have him use it(This gives him a +2 AB buff for 50 minutes). Use the barkskin potion on Seelah(This gives her 2 AC for 30 minutes).
Battle: Always have defensive stance on for Seelah she will only be hit by nat 20s(aka not often if at all), Have Lann focus on killing Mages > Clerics > Archers while in point blank shot(This will remove any random damage taken), and have Camellia do the same with her heavy crossbow.
Against cultist champions(There are 2 total) take Seelah out of defensive stance and have her and Lann attack it till dead, and have Camellia use Fortune's Luck on Seelah(This will prevent her from being hit, but gives Seelah more AB since she possesses more AB than Cam.
Against Water Elemental: Same strat as against champion except keep Seelah in defensive stance you will eventually kill it with Lann.
Against Hosilla: Select Demon if you chose Lann in mongrel, and I believe angel if you chose Wendy. Do the same strat as against water elemental except pull back to the stairwell so in part 2 the quasit's focus Seelah. Finish off Hosilla and then kill the quasits.
Easy with this I end up with 60 health potions and can clear the entire maze in an hour on core with only needing maybe use a few potions to top everyone up for Elemental/Hosilla.
If you are not a physical dps this can be used to carry you through. If you are a damage dealer(ranged/melee) then you speed up the run immensely especially if you are playing something like an Aldori Defender with Aldori background which can net you an almost permanent 12 AB with dueling sword at lvl 2.
Exactly this what i meant if you pick the right PC class and companion haha... but damn thanks for the guide man it never occured to me buy scroll of heroism
*Complaints that there's too many combat*
...Huh...
Hosilla 1 shots a character and is almost untochable and then she summons the npc archer + demons later. This is not a balanced game, there is no way to counter that, it's not even a challenge, it's a slap on the face.
I had to lower the difficulty to normal, it was too easy but i was not going to reload
hard and consequently Unfair difficulties are meant for min/maxing hardcore wise. Unfair I'm not even sure it's possible to beat Hosilla unless you abuse save/reload.
There is always this. Dungeon-be-gone was probably downloaded more than the actual game was bought :D
Boring, easy combat isn't really engaging.
if you chose Lann in mongrel camp and use angel against the demon Wendy will fight with Hosilla. and I assume if you chose Wendy in the camp Lann will be hostile if you use demon.
