That's the only I can see being bored with the shield maze, since you can get through it rather quickly if you know what you are doing.
Took a day off and played the next day. Game got fun again.
The further you'll go in the game (at least as far as I've seen from the beta) the more over-tuned and overcrowded fights tend to be.
Not only every area will be overcrowded by enemies from top to bottom, but they are often going to be fairly demanding fights too, that expect you to come buffed up to your hair.
It's almost as if Owlcat HATES the very idea of pacing fights and giving the player a bit of a breather from time to time.
