Daeran starts out staggered, why?

Everytime I enter combat, he is staggered for three rounds. What am I doing wrong?

Considering that Cam has hexes as well, you could argue that she should be doing that as well. The companions are more flexible than people give them credit for. Like one more than the other fine. Wanna mix up the comps, fine.

At least it's not like Kingmaker where Valerie is with you every playthrough unless you main tank or play with mercs.
