Crusade Gargoyles (Spoilers?)

How on earth do I beat the stupid gargoyles protecting the hellknight camp in crusade mode. I do like 1 damage with my units (I recruited the maximum amount) while the gargoyles do tons. There's no other easy fights for me to do on crusade either and I don't want to skip it as then I'll not be able to get Regill!

If it's the ones close to the first fort you take on Act 2, put on a podcast turn the sound down and monotously click them to death. For me they do around 18 damage a hit where i do either 0 - 6 (Yep), or 30 - 60 so it just takes a while.

Yeah the crusade fights advance in difficulty very quickly and your army...doesn't get a whole lot to improve itself. I bought everything I could, combined it into one army, and hit it for all that I could. It doesn't help that it's one fast gargoyle that can move whereever it darn well pleases. It took half an hour for me to soak through it. I found buying all the footmen and archers I could very helpful, as well as casting healing spells and having clerics cast smite evil.

Clerics. I was struggling with this ♥♥♥♥ till I recruited some and the Smite Evil talent they can use just lets you kick the everliving ♥♥♥♥ out of the Gargoyles.

Completely ignores the Gargoyle's DR when being attacked by the clerics and they hit kinda hard. That was my route to success.
