Best race/class/alignment lorewise

What would be the best combo toward the lore/plot/immersion ?

Human paladin of course (has to be LG).
You are trying to conquer a demon army and fight for the human kingdom of Mendev, which has a tradition of knights/paladins leading the crusades. As it happens, since demons are a paladin's favorite enemy, all of his features come into play here all the time.

i think the question is too broad
as there are a bunch of mythic paths and romance options etc. to consider.

If your "concerned" about the crusade "lore" which is part of the setting:
read up to ONLY the 4th crusade, the 5th crusade is what the game covers.

check that and see what race/class/alignment would fit in.

The canonical ending, is a party of "heroes" saving the day.

Im not very far into the game but for Lawful Evil id go a caster maybe an undead bloodlined sorc or a necromancer wizard and go down the lich mythic path it seems to be what i read about the most here.

Everyone knows the best race/class/alignment in every game is male human fighter true neutral. How else can you role play as a murderhobo that is only there for treasure?

If i recall correctly the "evil" paths are lich, devil, and swarm. I only mentioned lich because i see it seems to be the most popular one.

I go in neutral, then let the choices decide, neutral also seems to give you most of the mythics options from the looks of things, only ones that seem locked are lich and the swarm
