Shadows at level 3?
Ah yes let's throw a level 3 party against enemies that are completely immune to physical damage, and can do upwards of 8 strength damage in a single hit, or just one shot characters with a 10 with touch attacks so armor doesn't even help either...
WHO thought that was a good idea?

Ya, I just encountered this. WHAT THE HECK??? I was a GM for years, and this is just crazy frigging stuff to throw at lvl 3 characters on a path they can't really avoid to boot. I had hope this new version of PF would be more balanced, but nooooooooooooo obviously not.

I can only imagine what my RL group would have done if I had thrown this at them.

By the time you fight Shadows, you should have one or two Cold Iron weapons.

Use the talking Weapon, it can damage Shadows (you can find him during the tiefling quest)

Yeah you should pretty much have alot of Cold Iron weapons for many types and the talking weapon by the time you meet them...

Every one of my characters either had cold iron/+1 or spells. Also Camellia has the ability to turn her weapon into Ghosttouch.

It's not that bad. You have a shaman that can make her weapon ghost touch, you can have at least everyone kitted with a +1 weapon at this point, and if you don't, you have a least 2 leading up to that point, plus you can use effects like cure X wounds to nuke them.

Just because you can't roll a foe doesn't mean it's too much, just means you have to be the barest of prepared to handle it.

Odd then that Seelah with a cold iron ''longsword'' coulnd't touch them

Your second companion comes with a cold iron weapon, and there should be a popup reminding you of this when you encounter something you need to hit with one.

ahem... I CAST MAGIC MISSILE AT THE DARKNESS! MAGIC MISSILE! MAGIC MISSILE! MAGIC MISSILE!
Jonkenden Sep 3, 2021 @ 5:15pm
You need +1 magical weapons, cold iron doesn`t work. Ghost touch works.
MtvYoloSwag Sep 3, 2021 @ 5:16pm
Yeah that was incredibly annoying.
I used a torch dealing 1 damage while my mammoth tanked it, luckily.
AlexnChaos Sep 3, 2021 @ 5:19pm
it's not so much being able to damage them that's the problem, that I can work around, it's having the damn things drain strength from everyone, double so when no of my ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ make the save throw for it, come on Seelah, this is what your supposed to be GOOD at /facepalm
ColonoscoPete Sep 3, 2021 @ 5:25pm
Everyone talking about cold iron weapons, don't seem to realize that it's not a DR problem, the shadows are IMMUNE to physical damage.
