Arctis 7 Steel Series wireless headset keeps turning off in game
OK weirdest bug that I thought was just my headset battery at first, but after testing since yesterday in multiple games and websites, I found out my wireless headset shuts off after a minute or two in WotR. As in it literally just powers down and I have to turn it back on. Even weirder, it only happens when it's plugged in, unplugged it works fine.

Never seen that before. Not exactly game breaking since I just need to use my wireless headset as intended, wirelessly, just weird. Thought I would share.

Same thing happening to me: Arctis 7 headset plays audio just fine while unplugged, but once the cable goes in the game it turns off my headset within a few minutes regardless of power level.

This is super annoying. It happened with Kingmaker and this one. No other game suffer from this.

It only happens when the charging USB cable is plugged in.

My workaround is having the charging USB plugged into a different device. I am using a laptop that is sitting besides my gaming PC,

I had this issue for a while but after I did oen slight change to in the Power Savings settings I haven't, si it might fix it for you as well.

Open Control Panel.
Set view to "Category" if its not already. (small drop down menu in the top right)
Select "Hardware and Sounds"
Select "Power Options"
Select "Change Plan Settings" for your active power plan.
Scroll down to USB.
Select USB Settings.
Select USB Selected Disable Settings.
Set it to DISABLED.

After I did this ive not had a problem with disconnects. Why this helps? No idea, but after i did that it hasn't disabled itself.

Hi, i really hope you see this but how do i find control panel im really struggling and this is very frustrating

You can just type 'Control Panel" in the windows search bar, or hit Windows Key+R on your keyboard to bring up the command prompt and type control panel in there and it should open it as well. After that instructions are pretty much exactly as described.

Thanks for the tip unfortunately it did not work. Have tried everything I've found in the forums but the sound cuts out all the time. Sad times :/

unplug the artic head set, should work
Yeah like I said, not exactly game breaking. I mean, it's frustrating when you don't know the cause, but once you do you can bypass the problem by just using the wireless headset wirelessly. Not exactly earth shattering impact to use a device as intended.

Unfortunately mine is doing it while unplugged 🤣🤣

Same issue, only the Pathfinder games do this and it's crazy annoying. I've tried everything suggested here, nothing works.

Hey all,

After years of searching and hitting this forum thread numerous times and saying "Dang, still no answer" I FINALLY came across this thread:

https://steamcommunity.com/app/1184370/discussions/0/2961670087548878966/

From developer Starrok:

"Try searching for a file called Rewired_DirectInput.dll in the game files, and deleting it. If that helps, then it's an old Unity engine bug which has been a part of the engine for ages, and causes these issues with some peripherals."

This fixed the issue for me and I'm so glad I don't have to deal with it anymore. If you ever verify files it'll add it back so make sure to delete it again
