It only happens when the charging USB cable is plugged in.
My workaround is having the charging USB plugged into a different device. I am using a laptop that is sitting besides my gaming PC,

hi i have same issue, this happend only if i charge it at my desktop. i try charge with laptop while using it never turn off itself
After years of searching and hitting this forum thread numerous times and saying "Dang, still no answer" I FINALLY came across this thread:

From developer Starrok:
"Try searching for a file called Rewired_DirectInput.dll in the game files, and deleting it. If that helps, then it's an old Unity engine bug which has been a part of the engine for ages, and causes these issues with some peripherals."
This fixed the issue for me and I'm so glad I don't have to deal with it anymore. If you ever verify files it'll add it back so make sure to delete it again
