As for rolling stats, you'll unfortunately probably have to wait for a mod, use real dice or a dice rolling sim to roll, and then modifying your stats to those values. I'm not sure the game has the architecture for modders to input a stat rolling section in the character creator unfortunately.
I hope they add the OPTION for this in a future patch or dlc, its core roleplaying.
instead of wasting time rolling 300 times to get god stats just cheat. it's easier, faster and gives you more control.
i don't understand the need for rolling stats when it's basically just cheating.
pointbuy is useful for balance, but we all know people use rolling to scum their results
I deleted my post lol, when re-reading the OP it does seem he wants to get stronger. Was putting my personal interest instead of his lol. I hate being OP so thats why I didnt consider that. I just want to make characters feel as unique as possible which rolling stats accentuates
Except, rolling is the STANDARD RULE in Pathfinder, it always has been and always will be. Some of us want a pure experience, point buy unfortunately is very limiting. If you want to play say a Mystic Theurge, or a Sorcerer with some Intelligence, or any number or hybrid builds its IMPOSSIBLE with point buy. Because you simply do not have the points available to have a decent load out. So you end up either just sucking all around or having to focus in one area.
Yes some people abuse dice rolls but its because Point buy doesn't allow you to even get an 18 with out sacrificing the entire pool of points. Ask ANYONE who plays DnD regularly if they use point buy and i'll bet you they tell you they roll instead. Because like it or not Rolling is the standard, and it results in load outs that aren't trash. Your AVERAGE roll will end with at least one 16 base line and a few 14's and 15's and yes a couple 12's on average i usually roll...
2x 16-18's
2-3x 14-15
1-2 10-12's
with some variance on all of it, but that results in a playable PC... with point buy i generally end with...
2x 16's
1x 14
2x 10's
1x 8
sure its playable... but its not optimal... and for me its not fun either, because i will always lack in areas i want to excel in.
So for me and many others point buy is just a detriment... and it forces us to cheat just to play the game in a reasonable manner.
I say this as someone who has played DnD since 2nd edition and still DM's every sunday...
Point Buy is and will ALWAYS be the optional rule and needs to stay that way and stop being forced on games that don't need it.
Edit: fixed point buy forgot to deduct racial from my 16 anyway! fixed
Well. I gave you some workarounds. I don't remember any CRPG using rolling stats, because sometimes the rolls can be unfair for a story driven game. Better using PointBuy and buy your character, instead rolling a random one.
Still, you have some mods and options to roll a real dice, and change the values in game.
