Colored Gem Puzzle in Maze

Where do I go about finding the right order to activate the gems? Thanks, I appreciate the help.

In room where you first find Mongrels. Just to be more specific it is room where after killing 2 Mongrels it triggers dialoge with Lann or Wenduag.

I am still having issues...hmm but it is the one in the room with the big pit in the middle that has a bunch of bloody flesh in it.

The clue to solving this puzzle is hidden in one of the first rooms, where you’ll encounter the first group of distorted mongrels. If this has already happened, go back and look at the walls. On one of them are four paintings, painted in different colors, hanging side by side. This is the solution to the puzzle.

They're on the left corner as you enter the room, and look a bit too colourful compared to your surroundings.

Yep. The black paintings have a figure on them that is a certain color.

TBH this puzzle is ridiculous, I don't see how any reasonable person could ever notice those paintings had anything to do with it. There are several vids on YT with the solution to this. My advice is to use them - no shame at all IMHO.

Whereas.... from an alternative perspective... the instant I walked into that hall and saw those pictures with those colored frames, I whipped out the trusty pen and paper and wrote down the color combination with the thought... 'surely this has to be used later'. To me it honestly stood out like DB's.
