Lich or Aeon?
Can't pick between a Witch Lich or an Inquisitor Aeon on my first playthrough. Any beta players have any input? I've played a bunch of the Tabletop version of pathfinder, just kinda curious which path is more fun in the game.

depends on what you like to play. iirc lich was only good for casters. (and since i only play melee i didn't even bother)

i had a lot of trouble deciding what path to take because they all seemed pretty bad outside of the thematic choices.

No one but yourself can tell you which Path you'll have the most fun with. ;)

As for Lich vs. Aeon in general terms, I will choose Lich for 1st playthrough because I love to be a powerful Caster, and Lich is exactly that for Arcane Casters.

Aeon, to me, feels more like a Rogue-ish deal, less focused on caster combat anyhow.

Aeon has a bane ability iirc, and it stacks with the regular inquisitor bane, which was my reasoning for playing an inquisitor for it, plus it makes sense lore wise too. I heard aeon was kind of weak in beta though, which was my only hesitation towards it.

I would say think about what you what theme you want. Lich is lots of undead, undead soldiers, undead companions, undead spells, etc etc.

Aeon is Cosmic Judge, you get a Court, you make judgements and deal with things on more of a Cosmic scale.

I think the trailers give you a pretty good idea of the themes. For my time in Beta I never got to Aeon, but Lich is a lot of fun and the devs put a lot of time into it. So you can't go wrong with it. If you do pick either though make sure you find a guide so you go through the steps you need to make sure the path is available to you when the time comes.

Yeah I'm kinda leaning towards lich, especially with the exclusive companion(s), it definitely seems like they spent a lot of time on that path from all the stuff I've seen.

wrong, lich is the best mythic path for a dr/- stacking melee, i would even say that the archetype of "dr life drain tank" only exists because of the lich mythic path

Might want to play something companion friendly for your first playthrough.

Not necessarily... I get why you said that, but I would counter that with:

It's not really an issue, as even such a first playthrough would thus keep the companions "lost" fresh for a subsequent run with another build & path.

really ? when i played it seemed like lich was only good for casters so i went for angelic path iirc. (i played in may so i don't remember everything)

can you explain why is lich good for melee?

Both are great, you are going to have to chose. Well i say that, I'm going to be playing a lich and trickster playthrough at the same time. Going back and fourth between acts.

because you can get like 25 dr/- alone from the mythic path plus vampiric blade so you heal for 20-40hp per swing, add that to a barb that gets 6dr/- and a shield/armor with dr/- and you end with a character that has 300+hp 40 or more dr/- and huge heals every time he swings his weapon plus you can play a heavy armored sword and board character that actually feels like a tank

I've played Inquisitor Aeon. Mechanics are fun, but I'm not an expert. Storyline is kinda meh, though there were some cool moments (changing history or cancelling someone's magic).
Also you can turn your Aeon into Devil, that sounds interesting. Couldn't do it though, either it wasn't in beta or I did something wrong (or didn't do enough wrong).

Depends, Do you want time powers and powers to undo things or do you want undead powers and the power to Fix things after they have already been broken

Aeon looks like godhood at first glance, it's like a Jojo character with a "I win" button, really fits a power fantasy.
