Charisma based character
Hi everyone !

I'm currently wondering myself about the main character I want to do. So many possibilities ! It's incredible ahah Like the real Pathfinder :p

I think I want to do a charisma-based character. I like the idea of a charismatic army commander who leads his troops to victory ! Plus it's usefull in dialogues.
But I don't really know what class could be cool to play with this. Paladin ? Could be cool for RP and all but I'm limited to Lawfull Good so idk. I played an Aldori Swordmaster / Duellist charisma based build in Kingmaker (basically a tank with Charisma) but I think I'd like to try something else this time. What are you thinking about this ? Thanks :D

Stats don't represent how your character appear, they're just for mechanical purposes. You can dump charisma in most cases, except for casters who use charisma as their main casting stat. If you want a character that resolves matters diplomatically, take a class that has the persuasion skill as their class skill. You can even dump charisma in that case to assign points in more valuable battle oriented stats, you'd be just a 2-3 points short in persuasion that is no big deal.

When it comes to Charisma classes, your choices are probably Oracle, Sorcerer, Bard and Paladin. Two are casters, one is a minstrel, and the other is a crusader against evil. I think there's going to be a lot of thematic potential for a Mythic Paladin Commander, given that Paladins are supposed to be charismatic leaders.

Sure but Charisma increase chances of success right ?

Oracle is a new class right ? Will have to look at it :)

Played a dragon disciple with a few ranks into monk/Paladin in Kingmaker. Was a great show till the end, though this time I'll try something different for sure.

No, persuasion is used for diplomacy and stuff. Charisma increases persuasion by it's modifier, but it doesn't worth investing in charisma unless you're a charisma based caster. Just increase persuasion.

Oracle is one of the base classes, it just wasn't in kingmaker.

Just be a Sorcerer. You can be a Sylvan Sorc and get an animal companion.

Stigmatized Witch is charisma based. There is a character of that exact archetype in the game but she is a very focused character mechanically and picking another one still felt like a very different character. Best part of the character was if you take the right curse, you get Mirror Image, which is amazing for a healer.

I was also thinking playing an Eldritch Scion because Magus seems to be cool and this subclass allows to have some charisma, what do you think ?

Sorcerer seems to be cool too indeed :)

Bloodrager uses charisma for abilities and it's melee based mainly, i myself gonna play Bloodrider, which allows me to summon feral mount at lvl 5.

Hmmm... CHA based? CHA based....

Lich..

it's lawful good...

it's saving the world from the Demon hoardes. How could it be evil?

You could also go with a cavalier. They are obviously str first, but they use charisma for their shared tactics and a couple of the subclasses and orders use charisma to inspire their allies or spread fear to their enemies.
