As a note though, I don't think any of the monk ones are used. There aren't any monk characters in the game that pull from the PC portraits.
Also, I didn't know about Kingmaker switching up portraits. I just noticed in the prologue the Aldori swordswoman lady was a portrait I could have picked so I just assumed haha
Helpfully, five of them are bounded by the two default tiefling options in the WotR portraits. In between the male tiefling choice and the female tiefling options are 5 significant/major NPCs who show up pretty early in the game. The 6th is part of a possible party member's questline (and apparently a possible party member?) it's the black dude with spiky armor and a big falchion.
None of the Kingmaker portraits are used by actual characters you'll encounter, although a selection of portraits from both the WotR and Kingmaker pools are used for "Generals" in the Crusade gameplay.
Nothing is more annoying than picking a portrait to be your character, and meeting yourself....
After taking another look in character creation: I think I have seen all of them ingame. As part of a tribute towards the artists for sure. Pretty much all those which are not used for NPCs are used for generals.
Why not picking one of the many hundreds of portraits from countless collection made by fans extra for Pathfinder digital games?

Adding portraits isn't a mod though. You don't update it. They can't break (or at least I don't see how Owlcat could even accomplish that).
So pick the one you like. The game has it covered this time.
