Extirpator's Camp

I went here with Sosiel and nothing is happening, there's no hellknights, no monsters, it's just an empty map, what do I do?

go out and go in again to reload the map unless you have been there before

I've been leaving and going, I even camped there thinking it might be a night-time only event but nope, nothing seems to be working

Save outside, restart PC, load game and try again.

This might seem like a silly question, but have you actually fully explored the map, ie walked all over it?

Well must be. Otherwise they would have seen at least all the corpses and loot.

I have scoured all over, the only loot on the map is a backpack that I have no way of getting to as it's up on a cliff

Ah well, then you can go the usual procedure in telling us your game version, os, mods, etc. before anyone can get a grasp what is going on with your game.

I am up to date and have no mods installed. I'm on windows 10 64bit

Was it a timed quest or something? Cause I kinda put it off and the description of the camp implies that they were "last seen at this inconspicuous hollow" were they all eaten or something

When you arrive they're all eaten, as you go to the centre of the map you get "ambushed" by a purple worm. You kill it, then sosiel examines the corpses and finds that his brother is not amongst them, then you go back to the guy who was pretending to be a hellknight and interrogate him again.

Yeah, I've been all over the camp holding tab to highlight things, the only thing I can interact with is that backback that's out of bounds, it's either bugged or I'm played af. I'll do another run around the map to be sure

It's not out of bounds, there's a mobility check to get up there. Since you're not seeing the mobility check that adds to the likelyhood that the map didn't load up correctly when you initially went on it. You'd probably need to go back to an earlier save.

What's weird is at one point, when I went to the camp it spawned me up there with that backpack, I couldn't get down so I had to reload
