Now im playing a mutation warrior (angel mythic path) with a 2hand scythe and it feels a bit better, but i still need to be careful to attack from 2. row :)
I guess if i was a better player also the 2hand fighter would be fine , but the mutagen is rly nice <3
Just play as you like, i guess if youre not aiming for unfair you can play any class/build you like.
two handed melee pure fighter without reach sounds difficult
Ehh enlarge person is generally enough with any 2hander to keep them out of most melee. I thought about glaive or fauchard but those are for girly men! Then again I'm doing azata and going to get butterfly wings later.......
Mutation warrior also won't get much defense until mid late and late game. It's essentially 2 AC for much of the game. It doesn't really get great until greater and grand mutagen. But one could argue the same for 2HF since they don't get the improved power attack till 15.
but with level 11 you also get feral wings on mutation warrior
which considering you going azata will look really ugly as soon you hit mystic 9
Yeah but If I went with mutation warrior I would go with aasimar and get wings anyways which saves me 2 discoveries for 50% chance for crits to do normal damage. Because feral mutagen by itself is pretty bad without sneak attack. So that 9 AC at level 19 with mutagen and wings (only 6 if i went aasimar 2hand fighter anyways) and 50% less crit damage.
Vs raw damage of 2HF which I'm not even sure how much more it would come out to. I like them both thematically so "Just pick what you like" is kind of hard.
and even if bite does not much damage on its own, its still a additional dice roll to trigger outflank
No because then I would have to look around for a decent half orc portrait online. Also bite attacks aren't very good without sneak attack or natural attack builds. And their die hard racial is how you always ensure your non tank character actually dies.
That is probably one of the worst subclasses though.
I actually did 20SS/20 2hf on my first playthrough. But it was so buggy and I skipped a LOT of stuff and did auto crusade and just missed out on too much stuff. Like I didn't even know finnean existed and missed him entirely.
And at that point I was just auto attack killing bosses so it was no fun.
