Warpriests get blessings which are unique mechanics, blessings don't give the same abilities as cleric domains do, blessings are actually more melee oriented. So they are not the same (think of it as the difference between oracle mysteries and shaman spirits, similar but not the same). Hellknights of the godclaw (and only the godclaw) get domains because that's their specialty (godclaw order is basically a non LG version of the paladin, you get the aura and divine powers), other orders get other things.
Paladins don't get domains, inquisitors do.
Okay and that makes (a bit) more sense since War-priests get more Melee feats than either Pally or HK
Also it makes sense that since the Godclaw are more "religious" over all that they would get a domain I suppose.
Regardless I am enjoying my War-priest Proclaimer quite a bit in this game even though he won't ever be able to merge spell books or get true Domain powers
