Tower of Estrod - Sneakin'
Hi! Am I missing something, or is it really impossible to get into the cultist room without triggering their cutscene? I'm trying stealth, invisibility and anything else I can think of but I cannot avoid that darn talk.

What is the point of the mobility and athletics checks in the room, if you can't go in and use them *before* the fight breaks out? I imagined sneaking in one character and rolling or tilting over one of the columns. But nooo.

A good question. I gave up on that after wasting an invisibility potion on my bard. She was supposed to trigger the trap, but instead the cutscene triggered with her still being invisible. Maybe the traps are not meant to be traps for enemies, though.

I've always been able to sneak around the edges of the tower and drop both columns before they actually aggro to me and initiate combat. The cutscene and what they say doesn't matter.

I was able to sneak and drop a pillar on them. But honestly its more fun to hear Daeran and the 'clerk' banter.

Hm. Good to know it is actually possible. I shall try it on my next playthrough then.

Do note, this was post-defense of the inn. Apparently Faxon and co acquire super-senses after it, so it's impossible to avoid talking to them.

The sneak I was able to do pre-inn when Greybor is there. I think the options are purposely there to slim out the extra mobs.

Post-Inn I get the funny conversation with Daeran. Which I enjoyed more.

ye, you can sneak about before the Defence sequence, and it's helpful to balance the numbers a little. you don't really need it post defence 'cause there's just less enemies.

Yeah, I was easily able to defeat them. So it wasn't about need. It was about style and fun. :)

Hm... Very interesting. I did not consider sneaking up on them when Greybor was there. I actually followed his suggestion to thin out the numbers first.

I have been able to sneak in and both push pillar and roil pillar to kill most of them.

I have also not been able to, and had the forced cut-screen, where you can intimidate several of the enemy to leave with much the same result as manipulating pillars.

My guess was that it depends on whether you visit before or after the attack on the tavern.

It is necessary to click the little icon to put your characters in sneak mode. Just casting invisibility and not hitting the sneak mode button still allows them to detect and aggro on you before you can reach the Pillars. I'm not sure if this is intended behavior or a bug.

im not sure if you missed that but you can simply enter the room via the ramp next to the door. You can use at least 1 pillar that way until they spot you as long as you dont fail athletics/mobility check.

No stealth required when i did it.
