You only need that to win her over.
To unlock it you need to talk once with it in Act 1 library about chemicals smth. I think you can unlock it with a ToyBox if you missed that, but not sure, probably can.
- that's to win her over, ye
1st Perception check after you meet her and learn about her past - you get to know she is holding something back, presumably unlocking new dialogue options.
2nd Perception check is when you find the perfume after Leper's Smile. You do not need to confront her right away. It is okay to keep the perfume in your inventory.
3rd Perception check is during the night raid on the crusader camp. You notice she is holding an alchemist fire and it makes click after you looted alchemist fire flasks before in her tent
When you confront her, you can talk with her about the perfume and the night raid, she makes an escape. Presumably you need the first perception check to unlock the trickster option as well, since you need to understand her thinking.
The author was not interested in the feedback that their guide is insufficent accurate. They just deleted all my feedback and pretended he did not behave like a jerk, without checking whether the information is actually needed or not.
I would not have mentioned it if I have not noticed a handful and rising number of posts where people claim they did everything "by the book" but the options still did not appear for them.
Of course it could be unrelated - but storywise it makes sense to need the first perception check success too.
First you need to notice the rag in your backpack after killing the boss in Leper's smile.
Then you need to go inside Nura's tent and notice the perfume by going inside her tent after Lepers smile.
Then, during the Gargoyle attack you need to go find her in the camp (top left, where the queen normally is if you recruited her) and notice the alchemy fire and confront her about that.
Then after that (but before the assault on Drezen) you need to go confront her in her tent, point out she's lying and then use the trickster option to make her side with you.
Interesting that it works even after the meeting. I wonder what happens if you take Nurah's advice for the approach and then make her escape. How does the game react to that... hopefully not by breaking...
I indeed didn't find her during the Gargoyle attack, which explains why I didn't get the option.
I'll just reload an old save and just redo everything.
Let me know please if you find out whether the third check is necessary or not.
Yes, it is necessary.
I had the 2 first Perception checks ("She is holding something back" and Perfume + Handkerchief) and it wasn't enough to confront her.
You have to stumble upon her during the attack BEFORE Irabeth gets kidnapped. (otherwise, she doesn't appear)
i am pretty sure it is the first check thats unnecessary, as i failed it and could still confront her with perfume and fire checks alone.
