No Ranger or Paladin Spellcasting
Neither my Ranger or my Paladin have gotten their spellcasting abilities. I'm level 10. Is anyone else experiencing this problem?

What archetype are they?

Yeah, GUI is a bit tricky here - the subclasses without spellcasting list the spell progression although they have none. Tricked my once as well.

I knew it that my warrior of the holy light sounded too good to be true: https://pathfinderwrathoftherighteous.wiki.fextralife.com/Paladin ^^ (same for Divine Guardian)
Demonslayer Ranger, which is supposed to have Spellcasting. And Seelah, who is a vanilla Paladin.

Do you have the relevant spell casting attribute high enough to cast spells?

A paladin should require wisdom to cast, and should need it to be 10+spell level to cast. Temp modifiers + or - will also give or take away spell casting ability

Paladins get their spell quantity slow as well, so they might need to rely on bonus spells for casting till character progression adds spell slots of that level.

Just tossing that out there.

what is your wisdom score for the ranger? maybe it's to low (10 or lower?)

Paladin's require's charisma bonuses to get spells, Divine Guardian doesn't cast spell instead he gets more combat abilities. Ranger's use wisdom bonuses for spells.

I saw a thread about this same thing earlier today, one of the replies said it was a new bug introduced in the most recent patch.

I can't personally confirm however.

Odd - at least Seelah should work out of the box (and has for me every single playthrough so far). Does she have any negative levels? As others stated - you have to check the primary spell attribute (Paladin, CHA; Ranger, WIS) - they should be >= 10.

Seelah gets her spells late.

Shouldn't be the OPs problem with level 10. Sheelah / Paladins / Rangers gets their first spells @4.

I gave 4 levels of Ranger to my Greybor and upon hitting level 4 in that class he only learned the Dispel Magic spell. Something is off - maybe it only affects those classes who get their spell book at level 4.
Stink Bug Oct 1, 2021 @ 7:37am
Paladin spellcasting at least is a bug introduced with Wednesday’s patch: Seelah upon leveling to 4 receives no level 1 spells known and no caster level, and only receives the level 0 dismiss cantrip. I had leveled her up the night before the patch and she got the spells as usual, then loaded a prior save after the patch and the buginess ensued. Please report this as it’s a critical issue for these classes.
Just wanted to know if anyone else was encountering the bug. Great. Hope it gets fixed soon. It's annoying not to have spellcasting on Seelah and my MC but, honestly, I've been doing fine without it. Three Bully Animal Companions kinda obsoletes midgame fights.

That was in D&D 3.5 i think. In pathfinder, the paladin casting stat is charisma, and seelah has 15. (Not as high as I would like, but enough)

Yeah, I'm much more of a 3.5e fan so I get confused at times XD

Still, was hoping it wasn't a new bug introduced in the last patch cuz, you know, would like to play a finished game and what-not...
