Hide Lann and Wenduag alignment.
I think it would be better if you don't know their alignment at start before you make the choice.
Her suggestion was reasonable and i would have probably chosen that, but are you going to do what the evil person says?

Not really. The only reason i tried to look up her alignment was after i heard her battle cries like "YOU ARE TODAY'S SACRIFICE". Only then i looked into her chart and saw "alignment unknown". In fact her and Wen battle cries are pretty close in terms of crazyness.
Well I discovered it when I tried to change her necklace, nevertheless I expected her to be secretly evil for 20+ hours before it came up

JFC Lann is one of the most powerful companions you can get, He is absolutely lethal with a bow, Go Zen archer 3/Crusader 17 - and if you are getting melee enemies close enough to Lann, then you are playing him wrong.

I mean, NO ONE hides their alignment if it's Good. There can be some exceptions, but as a general rule, its means they are Evil and have somethin to hide.

Unless you go for Snap Shot line + Combat Reflexes type of build.

I think her twist is just there for people who never read anything in RPGs. Its spoiled the first time you try to level her and the interface tells you directly what her alignment is. But only if you read.

You can go that build with him and still get him out of trouble if he gets into any. Since he also can pick up a Ki ability that lets him dimension door. But in my entire time of playing him in multiple playthroughs he never once got in trouble enough to bother using it.

Don't need high con when you're ranged. Same goes for most pure casters.

Preference is whatever though. If you're not a fan of monks don't take him. Regardless of how you feel, as a zen archer he is actually objectively good though.
Don't need AC if you stay ranged. I'd pick 16str/20dex over 17str/17dex. Not to mention 17 dex/17wis is a waste on zen archer. And oh boy, Lann can use unarmed as damage. Well, Wendy just doubles her damage. And then she triples it. Cult leader improves damage die and adds some sneak dice to it. Slayer adds sneak and gets tons of feats, allowing her to get all TWF and snap shot feats by 12 or something and get solo sieze inquisitor by 16, for example. If you need a ranged character, Lann is not an optimal choice.
If you say so. I wasn't arguing for the sake of "optimal" anyway, as most of the characters can be better utilized through respects and custom builds.

All I was saying that even outside of min/maxing (which I think people focus too much on anyway) Zen Archer is good by default. Can't tell you how many times Lann cleaned house by himself due to how the Zen Archer works. Even late game it's been pretty consistent.

But again, to each their own. I'm not going to argue about this as if sides need to be taken. Both Wendu and Lann have their own pros and cons, and one can be be more preferred depending on how much you're optimizing and what your team needs.

Both are good archers, and I'm not going to argue personality because that's entirely preference

That said, Lann can give himself true strike with his zen archer ability on top of his perfected strike and his flurry of blows working on his arrow shots.

This opens up a lot of options together. Boss has very high AC? no problem true strike will take care of that. Mirror Image? Flurry his ass and take away all his mirror images so the rest of your party can hit the enemy.

His wisdom 17 means he can go crusader or another divine class once you get what you need from Zen Archer. And that opens up Divine Favor, Divine Power and the like to add even more to that.

And since you get him at level 1, he's very flexible to build with a very good chassis to work with.
