Man the relic items suck.

So for my first play through I skipped over the crusade battles once I took Drezen. This second play It's still annoying but I'm forcing my way through it. And so far up to act 5 almost all of the relics I have spent a good amount of time on are just bad. Now some of them are good or okay but most of them seem to be garbage compared to dropped items.

Most seem to focus on a theme or class but you don't know that until you have spent too much time into them anyways. Did you guys find or like any you found?

The most important is probably the Covenant of the Inheritor. During my first two playthroughs I always gifted it to the queen. Only on my third I repaired it first and thought about keeping it. It is too good to give it away, considering the main type of enemies you have to fight.

"This symbol of Iomedae, when placed on the belt, emits a holy aura. All party members in 30-feet area get a +2 bonus to caster level checks made to overcome spell resistance. Their weapon become Good-aligned and count as if they were made of cold iron."

Any battle becomes so much easier thanks to it, making weapons becoming automatically good-aligned and counting as cold iron. +2 two overcome spell resistance is the cherry on top of the cream.

The covenant belt from chapter 1 and some belt that added more fire damage were the only things I ever found worth a damn. Everything else went straight to the vendors.

Yeah, some of them really should get a second upgrade/enhancement

that said - I feel that there should be a limit to how powerful items you can get just from swatting small armies in crusade mode with your doomstack. Not much skill is needed.

Considering you have to spend a ridiculous amount of time doing the crusade battles I think giving us some worthwhile stuff would be okay. Most battles are easy depending on if you picked a mage general or not. I have a secondary martial general and his abilities are complete garbage compared to my mages. Any fight with him in a battle of attrition vs the enemy which is bad.

The artifacts should probably be a bit better than what the merchants hanging around your city have to sell though *cough black dragon sword cough*

I used the wiki when choosing research paths to get the item I wanted. Doing this, nearly all the relics have become mainstays in my party.

Yeah but I don't want to just wiki everything while I'm playing. I did an almost blind play through the first time. Wanted to do same with the crusade. I'll probably do it after i'm done with this one though.

I've also heard you can't get the secret ending if you take to long so that could really ruin someones day if your skipping days and resting a lot trying to find good relics.

The ones that don't do anything at all thanks to being bugged sure do suck, lol.

Other than that, I think the suckiest part is just not knowing what they'll do. It wouldn't be so bad if they didn't require such an investment.

Agreed, it's so powerful. Almost too powerful. Disappointed to hear that I may have to give it away :( What's the queen going to do with it? I'm actually helping the cause and utilising it effectively.

Some of them are amazing, the rest are worthless. For instance the one that makes a greater maximise metamagic rod with 6 charges per day. That thing is ungodly.

Well, you got wands like 3 maximized PLUS empowered per day. Still good, though.

i like the ring from ghostly pathways, gives every ally in range one additional attack of opportunity and the permanent golden circle looks good around angel mystic path

You wanna see a list - go to fextralives. There is a list of decrees there. Not all of them, since some are bugged, but most of them are there.
