Flurry of blows question
Just making sure im doing this correctly. Been going unarmed for my scaled fist monk. The flurry ofg blows does 2 attacksa during a full attack round right? Nothing I need to activate or anything? Because i dont see the ability on my ability block.

Also, I just equipped a quarterstaff of corercion, labeled monk weapon. I still get flurry with that I believe? Any downside to not staying unarmed? (I think I lose the improve unarmed strike, but the weapon dmg form quarterstaff should make up for it.

Does staying unarmed get better at higher levels? Right now, my monk doesnt hit for a lot.

You've got it right, it's a passive in this game. In addition to the large damage dies, unarmed gains the benefit of the Ki strike abilities and several styles require unarmed to function fully.

You can also use amulets of mighty fist or Magic Fang to enhance your unarmed strikes.

So should I stay unarmed? What through me off was the low damage (im still only level 4). Does it get way better?

Take a look on that table, it shows what damage your fists will do by level. Below it also shows what you get when enlarged too.

You can see the damage table here (third column from the right): https://www.d20pfsrd.com/classes/unchained-classes/monk-unchained/

Whether that's worth using or not is up to your preferences. Nothing says you can't switch weapons as the situation calls for!

Yeah I saw that in game too, I guess my confusion lies with, how does that compare to weapons at higher levels. Will weapons at higher levels also have higher modifiers that increase their dmg too?

Good point though, I can always switch between unarmed and weapon and see which gives the better damage profile

Typically fists are a bit better than most weapons. Unless your playing a quarterstaff monk which I mean you know what you're going for in that case.

If you can figure out a way to cast Magic Weapon Greater or Magic Fang on your Monk and don't mind relying on the buffs, fists are probably the "best" in terms of optimization. They let you do the Ki stuff and also unlock Feats like Pummeling Charge.

If you don't want to do all the buffing or figure out how to get those spells in your party comp, you're probably better off just finding a good Monk weapon in-game and going with that.
