The second map covers a much, much larger area. That is why the travel times are longer.
Eventually you will get the option to construct a teleportation circle. Build one in your main base. This will allow you to teleport there from anywhere (at the map screen), which in turn will allow you to return to a safe place to rest if your corruption ever becomes a problem.
Having someone in the party with a high Nature skill is helpful, as PopsurSocks mentioned, because it will reduce how often you need to rest (slightly). Raising the constitution of your party will also help because it will increase the amount of time they can go between rests. (Raising the stat directly or using items to raise it are both helpful in this sense. Using spells to increase it is generally not helpful, unless you make choices that will allow those spells to last for 24 hours.)
When you do rest, having someone with a high Religion skill assigned to reduce the impact of corruption will be very helpful.
There is at least one food recipe that will increase how long your party can go without rest. You'll need someone with a decent World skill to prepare that reliably.
If nothing else is good enough, then it is worth mentioning that the dead need no rest.
Wish there was a difficulty setting to remove fatigue because it's just tedious and adds nothing to my gameplay experience.
I have the maximum amount of teleportation circles I can build. They do help a bit, but they don't really cover enough space to eliminate this annoying issue. There are also several very remote locations that take forever to get to and where travel time can't be shortened via teleportation circle.
Are you serious? I love taking a rest every 10 sec and that is the best thing about this game. Taking a rest makes me feel so happy and much better than spending time with a gf.
Dude, come on. That requires you to already have the entire map explored so you know which outposts to upgrade so you can even add a teleporter. Which means you've already wasted hours in the world map interface.
Add to that that you cannot upgrade every outpost, so you have to pick carefully which ones will get a teleporter.
Travelling back to Kenabres for example is a pain in the butt, that takes forever even if you were to waste an upgrade on the outpost closest to it.
There's really no need to defend how tedious world map travel/fatigue/constant camping are in this game. And to add insult to injury, you can't even rest relatively freely, they also force you to take unnecessary trips because you need to rest in safe places because of corruption.
I suspect that your comment is a bit of expressive hyperbole, intended not to convey absolute fact but rather your feeling about the situation. Assuming that is correct, I would recommend you review my earlier post as you may find the information there useful.
If somehow your comment is literally accurate, then in addition to the information in my post I would suggest you click directly on your destination and let the game pick the shortest path there for you.
