Fatigue starting at act 2 ?
Are we supposed to camp for each location we discover on the map ? Cause even though they are close together on the map, they are 10+ hours away from each other. Each time i zone into a new area i'm fatigued and need to camp. Is this normal ?

Every so often your party will make a Lore Nature check while traveling on the world map, passing this check helps to reduce fatigue, but in general you should expect to rest between most destinations on the map.

I don't get it cause on the first map i could go from the top to the bottom and it took maybe 3-4 hours. Now it seems like 1 hour per centimeter forward.

The first map you were in a town, the second act you are in the world map traveling between towns & other world locations, so there's a lot more mileage being covered.

The first map is one town on the world map you are on in act 2. So of course if it takes you 4 hours to cross a town, it will take much longer to travel distances between towns. Expect to rest while travelling. You can do it on the world map before you enter an area if you want.
The first map you are moving around within a city.

The second map covers a much, much larger area. That is why the travel times are longer.

Eventually you will get the option to construct a teleportation circle. Build one in your main base. This will allow you to teleport there from anywhere (at the map screen), which in turn will allow you to return to a safe place to rest if your corruption ever becomes a problem.

Having someone in the party with a high Nature skill is helpful, as PopsurSocks mentioned, because it will reduce how often you need to rest (slightly). Raising the constitution of your party will also help because it will increase the amount of time they can go between rests. (Raising the stat directly or using items to raise it are both helpful in this sense. Using spells to increase it is generally not helpful, unless you make choices that will allow those spells to last for 24 hours.)

When you do rest, having someone with a high Religion skill assigned to reduce the impact of corruption will be very helpful.

There is at least one food recipe that will increase how long your party can go without rest. You'll need someone with a decent World skill to prepare that reliably.

If nothing else is good enough, then it is worth mentioning that the dead need no rest.

It's "normal" but it's also extremely annoying. You spend SO much time on doing essentially nothing because traveling takes so much time and getting from A to B is interrupted by having to rest 50 times.
Wish there was a difficulty setting to remove fatigue because it's just tedious and adds nothing to my gameplay experience.

Before too long you can start building teleportation circles to make life easier.

I have the maximum amount of teleportation circles I can build. They do help a bit, but they don't really cover enough space to eliminate this annoying issue. There are also several very remote locations that take forever to get to and where travel time can't be shortened via teleportation circle.

If you build them in the furthest corners you have unlocked, most travel is pretty easy (doubly so when you add the puzzle portals). Definitely not to the point that you "keep having to rest 50 times".

Are you serious? I love taking a rest every 10 sec and that is the best thing about this game. Taking a rest makes me feel so happy and much better than spending time with a gf.

I tend to teleport to the general area I need to be in, go to whatever spot I need to be in and if I'm exhausted rest there. If you're resting "every 10 seconds" you are doing something wrong (and probably carrying too much stuff).

Dude, come on. That requires you to already have the entire map explored so you know which outposts to upgrade so you can even add a teleporter. Which means you've already wasted hours in the world map interface.
Add to that that you cannot upgrade every outpost, so you have to pick carefully which ones will get a teleporter.
Travelling back to Kenabres for example is a pain in the butt, that takes forever even if you were to waste an upgrade on the outpost closest to it.
There's really no need to defend how tedious world map travel/fatigue/constant camping are in this game. And to add insult to injury, you can't even rest relatively freely, they also force you to take unnecessary trips because you need to rest in safe places because of corruption.
Yojimbo Sep 28, 2021 @ 12:17pm
well there is an option to build shelters in the towns you liberate if you upgrade the town once i think. It does so you can rest in that town without worry about gaining corruption

I can cross half the map and only rest once, without using a teleporter. I seriously doubt that there's any way you could require 50 rests to travel from any point A to any point B unless you are deliberately going in circles.

I suspect that your comment is a bit of expressive hyperbole, intended not to convey absolute fact but rather your feeling about the situation. Assuming that is correct, I would recommend you review my earlier post as you may find the information there useful.

If somehow your comment is literally accurate, then in addition to the information in my post I would suggest you click directly on your destination and let the game pick the shortest path there for you.
