Destroy or nah?

Good question, I destroyed it, felt bad for Morveg but it was for his foster father who's still alive and so figured it would do more "good" by getting rid of it. None of my characters use greatswords so yup, anyone knows what happens regarding that specific choice?:

If you keep it you get a decree which gives all your units a buff to damage but debuffs defence, pretty meh.

Sold it and told Ciar that I didn't know where it is. Sometimes you lie to spare someone's feelings.

I destroyed it but still have the decree available. It was still present on my companion Regill in the third optional weapon slot and never disappeared. Sounds like a bug but the decree enabled by not destroying it is ♥♥♥♥♥ anyway. I also found the weapon itself lackluster.
