There is the odd army event that spawned a mix of non-demon and demon units as well.
I *think* Lich gets its necromancy mechanic pretty much from the start of Act 3, though I'll concede that its debuffs are much greater.
Still, it's definitely a blow to the flavor of the crusade if the Demon Path doesn't let you do anything but personally rage until Act 5 >.<;
I am currently doing a Trickster playthrough, and Trickster-exclusive crusade mechanics kick in much earlier. I was visited by the Trickster-specific advisor 3 times before act 4. I also got a unique spell for using on enemy armies before engagement. I did not get one on the Demon path.
So yeah, either Demon is bugged or Demon mechanics only appear in act 5
So...bummer. Like I said, it's more of a flavor thing given all the issues the Crusade mode has, but I'll probably be putting my demon playthrough on hold and redoing Act 3 if/when this gets fixed >.>;
Considering the fact that I am playing on Story, probably not a lot. I am basically only resting whenever my party is exhausted from traveling. I never rest for spellslots or abilities
My current guess is that it is tied to the quest Middlegame. However, the more people second this, the less likely it seems
