Is Daeran supposed to be staggered for TWO rounds?
So in the first round of combat he has only a one action and the icon on his portrait that says that he can take either a standard or move action. And when he moves it seems like he move a quarter of what others move.

In the second round (I am not sure if its the second round but the second time he gets to play) again he can take only one action. Actually a 5ft step.

I don't get whats going on with this guy. He's -at level 7- completely useless cause he's outside the battle and can't reach anyone or do anything.

How do I play this guy right? I hear he's a great healer, if only... he would reach ANYONE to heal them.

I checked if its in the 2nd round and as you can see in the screenshot we are in Round 2.

thankfully, there's a solution later on in the game for it. you can get boots (2 similar sets actually, one just has an additional +10 movespeed) that have a permanent freedom of movement enchantment on them.

it completely removes his irritating drawback.

This seems to be the case for a few status effects like that - the effects continue on the round after the status wears off. I've seen similar things with Nauseated - on the first turn that the Nauseated icon and graphical effect disappear the character still can't do anything.

No clue if it's deliberate or another bug.

Read his character sheet. It's part of his oracle curse.

Or you can just have him buff himself with Freedom, it lasts plenty of time.

It is not actually two rounds. On most occasions you will have a surprise "round" where you can see the characters that can still take a swift or standard action (not full round) right before the actual first round. You can tell because the portraits will all show the "surprise/flat footed" debuff when that happens. When this does happen, you will often have him play twice with the staggered debuff active. This is almost always the case when you initiate combat by attacking something you spotted.

I will check this too. Thank you! But the debuff icon actually is not there on his portrait the second time. He acts like its active but its not marked.

Ok, got a screenshot. I think it is the 2nd round after all.

About the boots. I had them in my last playthrough on him, yet he was still staggered - often for 2 rounds.

This is not a bug.

Daeran is an oracle, class that comes with penalties. His is being staggered for few first rounds of a battle. Check his class sheet.

Op was asking if he should be staggered for 2 as opposed to 1 round, not why is he staggered at all.

1 surprise round + 1 full round after that

From what I see it is 2 full rounds. Someone mentioned the surprise round before and I checked. To the best of my knowledge that is not the case.

At any rate I send a bug report so its up to the devs.

Also let me note: 'One' round is what the curse writes, not 'a few'.

Thanks! Good to know. Don't have the boots yet but just got the Freedom spell. High hopes!

Given that on 2nd turn you can remove the stagger effect by switching from turn based to real time, I'd say this is defiantly a bug.
