That's a spell, but you can give him the Boots of Free Rein to let him permanently ignore being staggered.

I think it was greengates, where hag Jaruunicka boss is located.

But only for 6 seconds? He probably shouldn't be in melee anyway?

You can turn off the 'whole party moves at the same speed' thing in the Formation button/options ...

I think there is a boot which grant you the permanent freedom of movement effect. Either it’s from an relic or late game dungeon I can’t remember…
You could just have him subclass as a cavalier and mount him up that way his movement isn't factored in during combat his mount is.

Or just pass him the freebie triceratops you get in Drezen.

It works for me: also a mounted caster is a major asset due to being able to move to specific spots to line up big damage dealing spells and then still have movement cast them. My main character is a fusion of Magus and Cavilier (Well was till my save broke in Leper's Smile and my Triceratops wouldn't let me mount up anymore) and its a VERY powerful build, you do have to take arcane armor casting to make the most of it (Or use Toybox like I do) and depending on your choice of mount and specilization as either a caster and cavilier you can create a VERY powerful character that is good in my opinion for pretty much any caster
