Isn't that legit what it says it does? What does it actually do? Just add 2 damage? That seems weak as heck.
2 damage per dice makes alot of the spells with alot of dice to roll really good. :|
I think the misconception stems from thinking that magic missile is a roll of multiple dice at the same time while in reality it's different rolls ;) Bolster just works well with spells that have for example 10d6 explicitly written in their descriptions.
