Usage of mobility mostly for skill checks?

I know it says it counters attacks of opportunity in melee, but for someone like Lann I figure I can use that point I'd put into it otherwise to help the party out with a skill check or am I mistaken?

Just trying to figure out how to have everyone cover different skills and that skill point surely would be useful if it doesn't do anything besides skill checks and that. (my Leopard can hopefully skill check mobility then lol)

It is for jumping skill checks and there are some higher ones later in the game. You won't get anywhere with 1 point in it, though, this is an all or nothing skill.

There are various combat effects and abilities which might cause a mobility check, but most of them are going to be more important to a melee character.

You can put 3 points into mobility for any character that you want to fight defensively - it gives extra defense point.

Outside of that you want to split stat checks between different characters and max them.
