Dueling Swords a halfling's POV
Let me start by saying this is coming from a Halfling perspective.

Why are the Dueling Swords in Wrath SO much larger then the ones in Kingmaker? I mean honestly they are the size of a bastard or Two handed Sword? How is that suppost to keep in the lore/flavor of the Aldori Swordmaster that use speed and agility?

Whats more is The Dueling Sword is defined as a longsword with a slight curve in the blade.

The halfling Dueling Sword in Kingmaker was much smaller then the one in Wrath.

Seriously the Dueling Sword in Wrath looks like a dang Two Handed Sword even from a Human sized perspective!

I understand Small sized races take a hit to the Damage category from any Weapon, i take that to mean its due to the weapon being a smaller version of the Weapon.

LOL so give us small races a SMALLer version! if your not going to do that then dont lower the Damage range 8P

Just a little vent, no pun intended.

But honestly when owlcat gets some free time how about making this happen ;)

Yeah, at first I was happy that there was a background giving free proficiency for dueling sword, but then I saw this is way too big for my halfling. Even rapiers look too big, so short sword it is.

So you could be anything, and you decided not just to be a manlet, but a manlet who illogically fights in melee?

My melee Eldrich Scoundrel halfling is the last to go down (assuming anyone is going down). What's the point of being big? You just make a bigger target.

I agree, i almost feel like Owlcat did not take the time to render down/make smaller versions of the weapons for the Small races.

I know to many this may not seam like a big deal, but for those of us that love small races, it is quite a disapointment 8(

Real world duelling backswords were pretty long actually. 30-40 inch blades. About the length of a short longsword (longsword being the "correct" term for a two hander).

Might seem kind of odd, but you have to remember swords are actually light as hell, and you want the extra reach if you are duelling.

I just noticed this as well, my Halfling wields his Dueling Sword with both hands so its getting the 1.5 Str bonus for using both hands. I wonder if this will get in the way of the bonuses given to Aldori when wielding a weapon in one hand and having the off hand free.
Technically Dueling swords as depected in Pathfinder are not actual historical dueling swords they are Messers and Kriegmessers, a historical German made type of sword that is very similar in design as far as the blade is concerned to the Japanese Katana. In game they are a very effective sword and my personal favorite weapon, my main characters uses them to deadly effect and I have a mod that turns Radience into a Messer for good measure

Dueling swords are probably one of the worst weapon types in WoTR wut? They are basically long swords in game. Long swords at least have a couple good ones and don't require feats or classes to use them. And even then aldori defender/swordlord are just so meh as classes.

To each their own weapon type. Also pretty much ANY Weapon is viable if you take the right feats and have the correct classes
