How do I equip a battleaxe in 1 hand.

It is a one handed weapon but when I equip it I lose my off hand claw and it fills both hand and gives me 1.5 str.

Is there some way I can equip it with just one hand? When I equip light weapons like a handaxe it works as I would like.

Only way I know is magus’s spell combat modal which forces one-handed wielding. I remember in one of the alpha (?) patch notes there was a suggestion for a modal for everyone that Owlcat mentioned they might implement, but it seems they did not.

make sure you read the weapon description and not equiping a great axe lmao

Wow, I am a bit surprised they don't have a way to single wield weapons. Very annoying. I have the shaman claws ability and I have to use a light weapon to get the off hand claw now.

Try equipping into your off hand.

Off hand doesn't work. Medium weapons just default to both hands. Light weapons equip properly in one hand and allow me to use my witch claws in off hand.
