On strategic map, some demon armies have a green color and others are red. What is the difference between them?

The colours get adjusted to show how strong they are in comparison to your own selected army.

So if your selected army is 8, the demon army is 2, they would be marked green. While a demon army with the strength of 12 would be red.

Note that its reaaaaly bad at knowing relative strengths, though. It'll show an army you can kill in two turns without taking any damage as equal and also an army with two stacks of 500 archers, a stack of 750 cavalry, and a stack of 250 succubus as equal. And both of those things cannot be equal to you at the same time.

Yes, I have noticed the strength does not take into account the general, which sometimes can inflict the majority of kills in a battle.

Yep, that one was no fun at all; especially since the first thing that happens is the succubus unit goes for your marksmen with dominate.
