Yeah you just equip it in your mainhand , but your offhand needs to be free i believe.

than is it considered using two handed? 'cause one of the duelist thing says you need to use one handed piercing weapon and your offhand should be free, So I guess you can use duelist skill set and the power attack at the same time?

you do not get 1.5 strength with one handed weapon and any feat that req two handed does not work either

power attack descriptor says "one handed weapon using two hands." not sure how I use two hands.

It might be easier to break down the understanding first before trying to patch and mix it up for complexity.

Take a greatsword and a rapier as examples. The first is two handed while the second is one handed.

The greatsword obvious reaches 100% when you hold it with both hands.

The rapier can be used with one hand, having the other hand free for a shield or another weapon.

But the moment you use a shield or a secondary weapon you get an offhand penalty, because it is harder to hold two things in the same time, aka you become less agile.

A duelist benefits from feats which improves dodging and dexterity and so on, like a fencer using their other free arm to adjust their position and balance - which would be much different if a fencer would hold a shield or another weapon instead.

If you think it simplified like that, you can imagine your character wielding something like a longsword with two hands more effectively like that. But for that to happen ingame the other hand needs to be "free".

Having that system in mind you can imagine the result that in some cases it has more benefits than disadvantages having one hand free, which is needed for some weapons to unlock the full potential as if you are holding a two handed weapon with two hands.

Yes, I understand that. I just want to clarify if there is difference between using one handed weapon with free offhand and using one handed weapon with two hands. duelist skill set requires you to use one handed with free offhand, and power attack descriptor says "an one handed weapon using two handed."

I'm just wondering if I can use duelist sword with free offhand and can fit through both requirements.

In normal pathfinder, yes. In the game? I have never tried, but here is the official entry from the tabletop:

(I be honest, thought we were talking Bastard swords, but same thing, still applies here)

I think the feat missing ingame. And they just adapted the descriptor 1:1 without bothering to adjust it. At least I have not noticed the feat anywhere regardless of being a duelist or not.
