Optional when you first encounter it. Just leave it and you can come back at level 14 or 15 and kill it pretty easy.

Block its way with summons and use positive energy. I seem to recall stat drain necromancy working on it too.

Every time it was no big deal. Positive energy, cold iron, tanks. The usual stuff. Summons can help, but enhancing your attacks to bypass her reductions is a must.

I didn't. There are people who managed to cheese him with munchkin builds, but this isn't my definition of fun. He's optional. The loot he drops supposedly isn't even good.

Spam summons to tie it up and healing spells/abilities to kill it. Channel Harm Undead and most healing spells ignore spell resistance. It's a one-trick pony gimmick fight.

Well, I don't know about your situation, but with my bard, I buffed up the party with Good Hope, Haste, and Inspire Courage, had Seelah use that smite ability where she grants it to the entire party, and had Arueshalae cast Instant Enemy on it. Evil Eye hex to lower AC also helps. And then don't forget to have someone to use healing magic on it to disable regeneration.

Did not see that option for her. Dont have a Bard with me but I buffed everything I could before the fight.

Just cheese him with Creeping Doom/Pillar of Life spam and a lot of summons.

I see the most essential member of the party in front.
The enemies coming from behind can be countered with positive energy channeling while at the same time it counters the damage reduction.

Focus healing on whoever tank(s) you have with them being on defensive fighting style whenever possible. During my run my main character - sorceress - did tank secondary, after my paladin fell. Mirror image can be very powerful. Just keep in mind those who tank and supports the tank are kinda locked to do so until Playful Darkness is down.

If you have the Dwarven tankard which summons Azata or summon huge/elder elementals - those are incredibly helpful too.

However, I cannot underline enough how helpful mirror image, blur, displacement are in that battle.

I just killed it in the stupidest way possible after struggling. I greater polymorphed it into a Huge Water Elemental...this gave it fire vulnerability and reduced its crazy number of attacks to 2 weak attacks. Now my summon Ghaele Azata who was the only one hitting with some kind of fire spell actually killed it after about 100 turns.

Did that give you the 50K xp or so that it gives? I feel like thats the main motivation to kill this thing anyway.
