Legend or Angel? Spoilers
I'm playing as a paladin on the angel path, and hit the spot where you have to choose whether to give up your mythic powers and become a legendary mortal. The legend path boosts all my stats and lets me advance to level 40, but since you can only go to 20 in a single class I'm not really sure if going the legend route makes any sense for this character.

So, i'm curious what other people have done, and if they went legendary what other class they decided to go with after they were level 20 in paladin, and why.

Legend has it's negatives and bonuses.

Losing all your mythic bonuses can hurt certain classes far more than it helps them.

For example. A caster that heavily relies on the mythic feat to let them ignore additional spell resistance or give their bonuses to multiple schools, and ignore immunities and resistances would be rather upset about losing them.

A phsyical class that for example, would highly benefit from 20 additional levels of BAB stacking, might not miss it as much.

Doesn't my decision also impact my companions? I'm a tank, but if my party casters lose all the spell penetration and extra spell slot feats it's going to be a major hit.

Yes, it will effect them. And yes, it will make them significantly weaker, though I believe they also too benefit from the stat increases and bonuses to level.

Which could lead to them getting more versitile and less niche to make up for it. Or give them access to a significantly larger amount of feats to retain new focuses.

They will be weaker for sure, but getting 20ish extra levels to work with can let you have fun with some builds. And will make your melee units pretty shiny.

I figured it was something like that. What's really making this decision hard is that i don't know the pathfinder rule set very well, so i'm likely to muck up hybrid builds. I know a few of the tricks like dipping into monk for crane style, but i haven't got a clue what to do with 20 extra levels.

Legend's a weird one. Tried it out for a bit on my first playthrough(not ashamed to admit i save-scummed a bit to pass the will & stat checks), as a reformed fiend bloodrager/two-handed fighter dual; sky high BAB, nearly 600 base hp, giant size while raging thanks to abyssal br bloodline perks, hits in the 150-300 range(non-crit), but got bored...pretty much immediately.

Reloaded, went Angel all the way instead, got the Holy Sword mythic ability so all my attacks, physical & magic, did holy damage, plus all the Huge aoe Angel spells, was decimating groups of demons before my companions even got involved, and my buffs made us basically unstoppable.

With the right combo of classes, it could make for some unique builds, but losing out on mythic...might as well just play kingmaker again at that point.

Legend makes the game too easy since your stats become insane.

Stay angel, you can use interesting abilities and game stays somewhat interesting.

If you do become legend, just go mutation warrior, it's an A tier solo class and can make any martial class way better.

Good point. From an RP standpoint i really don't want to disappoint Iomedae since she's my deity, but going mythic is sort of the whole point behind the game. I know I'll probably replay it with different classes, so maybe i should just leave the whole legendary thing until i actually have some uber multi class combo in mind. This would be soooo much easier if it were just the old school D&D classes and rule set that i actually know. :)

As a Paladin, I'd stick with Angel. Even though Iomedae doesn't recognise you as her Chosen in the way people assumed, she comes to respect your decision to take the power given to you and use it for good even when she may have disapproved. I don't want to spoil it by saying any more, but if you've played a good Paladin it's a nice scene.
