Report a translation problem
What you can do is play with a deliberatly smaller Party, for Example 4, and the "only active companions receive experience" Active, which will give you Bonus Exp on top.
What's the earliest point I can dismiss or refuse companions? So far, Seelah, Camelia, Lann (and Wenduag, until before Shield Maze) decided to join on their own, and I can't dismiss them.
Only when you want to do the other story lines maybe, leaving 1 less basically as a helpful party member
tl;dr harder early/late game, easier middle game.
So all the jucy XP go to your MC.
But expect to die alot :P
I suggest keeping the NPCs and doing their quests one at a rime to gwt more experience and items. Then just send them back to camp when not on their individual quests.
