Just trying to parse what I'm supposed to be doing. I found 2 paths one to the Queen one to the Banner, but I wasn't really looking for buildings. But I also didn't see anything on the map.
Or do I just go through the banner encounter then to the manuscript?
Secondly : a lot of previous choices affect Iz. If you gave the Queen the book for example she will be at the library/archives instead of the camp
Here is what I did : queen/library first, you can go either from the top or midle, left and then north again ( you will encounter a familiar face on the way ) .
Supossedly if you do that, the crusaders camp with the banner get under attack. However in my playthough Hurlun was also alive so he defended it efficiently.
Outcome : Everyone is alive, archives not burned. Much better than I expected to be honest
Here are some other outcomes that I know can happen : if you do not give Queen the book she will be at the camp. If you go there first the archives get burned ( problem for secret ending). If you go to the archives the Queen dies UNLESS if she stripped you of command at the end of act 3. Thats because if you are the commander, the half orc paladin remains in Drezen, but if you are not she follows the Queen on Iz and dies saving her.
This may not help but from your starting point you should move in a straight line from there across the map to the other corner. When you get to that edge there should be a building you can enter for the manuscript. You should not be going towards the banner or the queen and you do not need to pass through them.
So basically 2 ways to go left or right and this depends on your camera angle but one way is a dead end eventually with a crack in a wall so that's the wrong side. Staying next to the edge of the map on the way to the right corner should get you there.
At least that's what I remember.
This did it. I was thinking the place it wanted me to go was someplace else and I never saw Northern path. When everything is rubble, nothing looks like a path, but the path is there.
