Arueshalae Romance

Ok, I'm super confused as to how to romance Arueshalae.

I have been choosing the supportive/romantic options the whole game. I got two different after-rest scenes with her. I've done all of her companion quests including "What Do You Dream Of?".

All that, and still no romance. Does it trigger some time later in Chapter 5, or did I somehow mess something up earlier in the game and need to restart? And if so, what the hell do we need to do to actually romance her? So far it seems even more annoying than the Octavia romance.

Watched a video on the romantic version of "What Do You Dream Of?" and it was very different to the one I got. Looks like I must have screwed something up unknowingly along the way.

Guess I'll have to start over. That's 130 hours I won't get back...

Did you recruit her in act 2 as azata?

Did you get the prison cell scene with her in Act 3, where she indicates she has a crush on you?

She's like the easiest girl to romance. All you have to do is never push her to be physical with you, and to not be a ♥♥♥♥.

I was a ♥♥♥♥ and pushed her to be physical and it seemed to not matter, although I made her burn everything in her dream and become evil so I never got full confirmation the romance was working.

I never got the Act 3 prison scene, which is what I assume was the problem. Nothing was triggering so I moved on with the story quests.

This time I'm just mega-cheating and speedrunning it to get back to that point. Making sure to still keep plenty of backup saves along the way. That was why I just started over, because I deleted all of my older saves because my load/save times were starting to get ridiculous with my dozens of saves.

The instructions to getting Arue's early recruit is the only guide aside from "how to unlock" things with mythic paths... otherwise I've avoided story spoilers.

I was worried whether you can still romance her as a Legend but then I learned that Aivu dies if you go from Azata to Legend... so not this run is that going to happen.

Yeah I'm confused what I did wrong. Looking at the way the video went to how my own game went she friend-zoned me.

Edit: Ah I think I see what the issue is, a quest called "time to think" is supposed to activate in the abyss but I never received this quest, so my game is just ♥♥♥♥♥♥ now unless they patch in an update to allow people to somehow retroactively gain access to it.

Yes, the last bit of the romance is in chapter 5. I'll not spoil it for you, but the dream is involved.
