That barrier is for proceeding ACT5.
All you got to do is finishing anything except that barrier, and proceed to the ACT4.
You should just accept it that you can't open it by now. XD
Wait, which barrier are we talking about here? The barrier to get INTO the midnight fane, or the barrier INSIDE the midnight fane?
I think it's the barrier that opens up in act 5 that takes you into the barracks.

Yeah, you don't open that until after act 4. Did you gather all the keys from the servants of the demon lords? Take those keys to the altar in the entry hall to open the final room.
