What's your preferred difficulty settings?
For the most main story content I use one group of settings and for IMBA side content I use another. It got me thinking about what the player community might be using and what y'all would recommend.

For my main story settings I use Daring and then adjust...

!. Adjust death's door to off
2. Dead companions rise after combat on
3. Enemy stats to moderately weaker
4. Damage multiplier to 1.1
5. Party's speed depends on weight to off
6. Character retrain on

Lastly I limit myself to 4 full companions + my PC.

Immersive RP...
1. show alignment requirements to off
2. show alignment shifts in dialogues to off
3. skill check dc in dialogue to off

When I run into IMBA content I decrease damage by 0.3. If that isn't enough I lower the enemy stats by a category. Repeating these steps in this order until content can be completed by my current party. (Looking at you blackwater and random spirit zones when I have nothing to target spooky incorporeal boys.)

What do y'all run / change up?

There's so much potential for this game. I'm really excited to play through at least three times and then revisit it in a few years with mods / DLC.

Core with respec, dead companions rise, negative effects on rest, I don't rest until I'm completely depleted. got tired of having to buy 30000 pots and scrolls per visit to town due to everything perma cursing you/ having minus ♥♥♥♥♥♥' infinity poison and unlimited casts of everything.

Hard enough so that in the middle of the game the only way to win any fights is for your rogue to crit hit them. With the tanks dying in 1-2 hits.

How do you even build something that can survive in that?
Do you run a full merc team?
I don't think the companions could live through it

I'm playing on core, the only flag I've considered is the respec, but then apparently it's bugged and you can respec anyway and it doesn't change the difficulty setting, so that was a wash.

respec mostly for stupid mistakes I do by being unattentive when picking feats, like going for empower metamagic thinking it applies on cure spells ( it doesn't ), or going for reach metamagic to use it on cure spells, but forgetting that on spontaneous that makes them full round actions, or "fixing" redundancy ( I took skill focus trickery on seelah since she was my trickery gal at the beginning ( didn't like Camellia) but now I have the succubus and so that's a wasted feat, but I couldn't know at the time), or respeccing in general out of stuff that doesn't do what I think it would do, like taking favorite enemy "outsiders", or extra channel more than once.

Also i'm indecisive and I like playing around with different stuff

Playing on Daring diffculty it seems challenging enough to get wiped out on the boss fight if i slack around and don't take control spells, but its managable for me.

I just get steam rolled on core and have to use way too many potions, so i probably need min/max party on core. Woljif and Lann are MVP's so far in their default class. Seelah is OK paladin. Thats been my experience so far.

Normal 4-ever.
I play on Core
Crits Normal
CC does not disappear on combat end
Death is Death
No Deaths Door
Creature Stats set to none
Creature AI will use skills and such

Basically everything should play out like the PF books intend, i do have respec set to off, but i use a respec mode because Retraining is a thing in PF--- and i dunno why they don't employ the actual retraining rules from the ruleset.

People make a copy of the save game file on Last Aziani mode. When they die (and they do a lot) they just paste the previous save (the one they made a copy of).

I select "normal", then change it to: companions rise after combat, remove negatives on rest, disable autolevel companions, and leave the rest as is.
Soul Sep 15, 2021 @ 3:35am
I did core but i added deaths door on to prevent instant savescumming nonsense from fighting things 20 levels above me lol I think next time im just going to do normal difficulty, honestly seems more balanced.

Core.

Would be too hard as tabletopm but on pc with save load its challenging enough wityh not super optimal flawor builds.

I have been playing on core, but as I have done that been thinking I should do one play trough with following settings :

Core rules
No additional enemy abilities
No additional enemies.

I have a hunch most of the problems with core gameplay come from those two settings.
