Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous - Enhanced Edition

Does auto-crusade ruin quests or sidequests?
Question's in the title. As far as I'm concerned the Crusade is some of the worst gameplay I've touched in 10 years or more and I'll mod it out if I have to, but given how young and buggy the game is, I'm hoping to add as few wildcards to the mix as possible.

If I just set the crusade to auto will I miss actual story content?

Yes. There is one secret ending. But you would not know if no one tells you or you come across by chance that combination of events which leads you to that.

Ergo: not worth it for your first playthrough.
but Mythic quests, item quests, companion quests etc all work fine other than that on auto mode?
i just finished a full auto-crusade playthrough. It feels...off. As if they stuck it in there last minute just because they realized just how awful the crusade mode would be for some people. there are a lot of pointless conversations, moments where you're like, so..i just wait around for a bunch of days i guess, weird timing with quests, etc. It wasn't broken, but it didn't feel like the full game either.

I've not tested it myself but I've been told that certain mythic path depends on the crusade mode doing specific research project.
I turned this dumb minigame off. Waste of time. I don't have time for minigames and meaningless quests or rushed conversation or whatever this mode is adding to the game. I prefer to have a journey with my party, after all it's rpg game.

I'm pretty sure turning this ♥♥♥♥♥ off will only add flavor to the game and you won't lose anything crucial. I'm pretty sure it only adds meaningless and forgettable quests or conversations. Waste of time. Turn it off and enjoy the rpg ride. :D

The cruzade mode is no joke, almost a third of the game. No wonder it feels off without it.

I tried a bit with it off and the game felt like it had an empty map. I guess then giving an option to turn it off, but not having an options to change difficulty, like you could do with kingdom management in Kingmaker, is them pushing the game off the door for the release date.

The problem isn't the difficulty. The problem is that it's ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ terrible. It's absolutely no fun whatsoever, and this is coming from a guy who absolutely LOVED Heroes of Might and Magic which this is clearly inspired by.

The Crusade system in Wrath is awful. Full stop. Anyone saying it's good is either lying to themselves to defend the game at any cost, or they've never played anything else before.

It would be HARD to think of a turn based strategy game that did a worse job than Owlcat did with this tactical minigame. It's like 1/10 rating. I've said it elsewhere but 95% of playthroughs over the next months will be with Crusade either turned off or modded out. It's as bad as it could be.
Ive tried both, you miss out on alot of items and the story ♥♥♥♥♥ on u for being a ♥♥♥♥ commander, they coulda at least made auto crusade the best possible result for the player but no.

I'm legit certain nobody at Owlcat played crusade mode at any point during testing or development, Because holy crap it's unfun, and like a collection of the worst design decisions made in the game.
I find that doubtful.

It's more likely that this was the brain-child of the dev(s) who worked on the Heroes of Might and Magic games (I think I read that at least one of them did) and they pushed it up to corporate telling them how great it would be.

When it turned out to be way more of a project than they anticipated and that doing a proper job of it would have taken another year, corporate was probably like, "No no ♥♥♥♥ no. This was your genius idea and you told us you could get it done on time and on budget and it would be fun. Enough with this BS. We're sending it out live and you guys deal with your ♥♥♥♥ ups. No more money for THAT."
