Elephant in the room: How pay2win is it?
It's a Korean export run by Nexon.

Just what's the pay to win catch?

At the moment: There are zero P2W elements in the game. Nothing in the shop gives you an advantage and all the mechanics are skill-based.

ICYMI the korean devs held a recent live stream called dear kartrider, theyre closing the original game and they have made a pledge for 0 P2W and gacha mechanics. the karts will be all cosmetic. and atm that is what it is all cosmetic

Delete it when they have P2W:lunar2019grinningpig:

for now? none p2w element. But this is nexon after all, there is definitely going to be one in the future
It's not like devs have promised you wouldn't be able to buy power then put it in the game later.

Honestly for me the cheater problem is already big enough to worry about the state of the game.

And if you guys haven't seen them in the races yet I suggest you take a look at the time trial leaderboards.
Basically the whole upper echelon is ALL cheaters.

They warp around the map, they have strange boost abuse methods - I've even seen time trial ghosts where the kart already started moving / warping before the time ended on GO.

I reported them using the ingame tool as well and they haven't been removed.

I've also seen infinite shields / deflects against items being used and also mild versions cheating of gaining boost at normal speeds on a straight that are very hard to even detect because it's almost borderline doable with the short drifts.

So yeah, not sure what's going on with that.

There are some maps with hacked times, and they are 20+ seconds ahead of the rest. Everyone else is just very very good at the game. There are tech vids on youtube that teach you how to play the game. Learn the mechanics and you will start to improve.

I do know how to play the game. That doesn't change the fact that literally all highscore ghosts I checked are hackers.

You may be right and there are legit ones but I'm not bothering with checking them all just to find the exception. If a kart starts warping across the map or gathers boost while drifting in a straight line or even starting to move before the go signal, that has nothing to do with mechanics anymore.

It's just that some are more obvious than others. And even the ones that started moving before the GO (in a warping fashion mind you) did not get banned yet.

Soooo yeah, pay to win or not - very obviously there is no anti-cheat and there is no quality control team catching cheaters and banning them.

No P2W so far, this is basically a kart version of Fall Guys, exactly same aesthetics.
GIGA Jan 19, 2023 @ 10:38pm
The director promised not to add any P2W elements at all. I can trust him because he is the one who revived the original Kartrider.

Its not p2w and they atleast said it wont be. You will be able to buy karts/upgrades with ingame gold. If you complete the licences with 3 stars each youll have enough money to buy a top tier kart once season 1 comes out.

I have played over 60 hours now and I have been NOT seeing a cheater in a single game.
Yes there are times in SOME of the time attack tables, wich are obvious cheaters, since you can race against their shadow and see that they insta-boost from the start.
So what? How can that be a fact to be annoyed about? They will obviously not count / be deleted once the tables freeze for the final results end of the season.

Only thing annoying about this game is ppl constantly whining and bullshitting about it.

Oh come on, you know developer don't have any power when the inevitable Nexon's grubby greedy hand order them to put p2w mechanic. Original creator, developer, people who actually work on the game don't have any power, stupid ignorant CEO and investor do.

Mark my word, there will be ♥♥♥♥ like paid rank mmr guard, 5% better perfomances karts, pets that give you stats, etc. Its Nexon, never believe their ass.

Honestly said, p2w is the least of the problems right now.

The main issues for me are:
- Cheaters not being detected or banned
- Long queue times and poor balancing / region matching due to low population
- Boring track selection, no option to exclude lower tier maps at least
