In drift there is a technique for chaining quick boosts that requires you to press accelerate at the right moment, when you use a jump pad it takes into account momentum and angle, sharp turns require holding drift instead of double drifting, instead of axin drift there is a technique called toktok, there is also a technique called "new cut" that allows you to gain nitro very easily.
Overall the skill level required to play Drift is much higher than rush+. In rush+ I was able to get close to pro tier in about a year, but in the original PC game I have been playing for years and I am no where near pro tier. The skill ceiling in Drift is enormously higher than rush+.
Since this game was just announced for mobile, I have no idea what the control scheme will end up looking like so it could be a simplified version that is similar to rush+.
Actually you can turn on auto accelerate in the settings of drift (just pointing it out, no offense intended)
