None. It has his own drifting mechanics.
The drift mechanics is different from those two games.

To be honest it’s neither and it feels pretty bad in my honest opinion, it feels like the took all of the worst parts of those games and made one out of it. The higher rated difficulty corses are just 90• turns one after another. I get it’s a beta but the mechanics just don’t feel right. And some of the map design doesn’t lend itself wel to drifting either. A lot of the corners will have larger walls agains them so you loose complete sight of your kart on turns which is unacceptable. I’m bummed back to sonic transformed I guess till we get a ctr port

It's nither, and trash... Drifting needs serious work before the game sees the light of day.

thats what a betas for, would be nice if people gave serious feedback about drifting instead of whining in every other post.

These drift mechanics are the same mechanics that have been in the original korean version since 2004. I doubt they're going to be simplified for NA. I sure hope not anyways. Don't expect this to play anything like mario kart, even though it looks like a more kid oriented game. In reality it's designed for top tier competetive play.
There's meant to be a boost or something after you've finished a drift according to the tutorial, but it doesnt say how to activate it. Maybe it's only for certain cars idk. The drifting doesn't seem to be that beneficial.

Yea, I never did figure it out either, if there is a boost at all, the game certianly doesn't say how to activate it.

Competitive play? It's worthless as it is now, you can get around corners faster by simply letting up on the gas, and have more control while you do it. This is, at base just a worse Mario Kart/CTR

Don't get me wrong I'd love a good Kart game on PC, but unless there's major changes, it'll never work out. (not just with the drifting, but don't want to derail the thread with the P2W battlepass)

Well said. I found another annoying thing that made me alt+f4 xD When you git walls you stop dead and dont bounce out like in other games so you can keep going. You have to fully reverse and then slowly get going again, by which point you have already lost.

Check out the Kart rewards, not the cosmetics/emotes those are fine, the actual Karts, fairly self explanitory.

How are the karts p2w? We can't even see the stats on them.
All the karts you can get from the battle pass seem to have 'abilities' which could make them better than the default cars. A little tip though, you don't have to pay for this pass. I clicked upgrade or whatever and i got it for free :)
