If anything I would up the normal stress gain a tiny bit but reduce the stress gain while under the vermin-perk.
To allow for more finetuning of the stress mechanic the stress cap could also be numerically doubled and stress gain/loss adjusted accordingly.
i also think the perk that gives stress reduction when you kill 10 vermin is quite nice when you fully upgrade it. i will agree that the vermin event is a little overtuned right now and that stress isnt as important when the event isnt up
It's just another thing to quest for that has risk and reward associated. And it has neat potential as a narratively interesting adventure. Maybe it could be the party sidetracking to save an orphange. Or maybe you're clearing out the PC's personal home to get some sentimental thing. There's a lot you could do there.
