Simultaneous Multiplayer?

Hello, we have just started a new multiplayer game. The game itself is fun, however, waiting for the other player gets really boring over time. Is there a way to play simultaneously, or are there at least any plans to make this work in the near future. Would be great!

welcome to our forum!

Unfortunately, there are no plans to change turn based approach to simultaneously executed one. We want to stick to pure TBS genre.
Nevertheless we have in plan to extend the possibilities what player can do in multiplayer when it is not his turn. We will allow to display all the game windows (foreign relations, diplomacy window, statistics, etc) as well as enable unit selection (so you can plan check out all the properties of map items).

Hello and thank you for your welcome. Sounds like a plan. Being able to do policits, handle trade and looking up your missions/decisions would be great while waiting for the other player(s). Do you have a rough idea by when this idea will be implemented into the game? Thank you

I didnt actually say that you will be able to do any politics or trading. You will be able to view all that but it will not be possible to perform any actions.
Unfortunately I cannot now promise any particular dates. Our plate is really full now and the priorities are also changing per importance.
If you want to wait by this is implemented, please check regularly our updates. Once it is implemented, it will be in the changelog for sure.

I saw some split screen info on DLC. will it be available on main game?
Trade, espionage, diplomacy, planned movement etc. could be asynchronously implemented, no?

I am not really sure what do you mean by "split screen". The game supports Hot seat, PBEM (playing by email or so called asynchronous multiplayer) and synchronous multiplayer (all players are online at the same time).

aha, though, I come from age when we had games with split screen MP and that meant that you share screen split in two, one player played on left other on right side of screen, two mouses or keyboard keys shared.....

So, that description isnt really hot seat.
Isn't hotseat available in steam descriptors? They had it before. Well, thnx for explanation.

No. Shared/Split Screen PvP basically means Hot seat. I am not even sure how would turn based strategy game work on split screen;)

haha, they worked. If I remember correctly, Battle Isle had it on Amiga for example, was a great game (Battle at Kronos was its remake).
