Black Screen Issue easy solution

People having issues with Black Screen on startup just disable G Sync from the Nvidia control Panel you will be good to go, people using AMD disable the Free Sync if same trouble is going on. Have fun guys!

I can confirm this worked for me, using a 3080 GPU, thanks.

Furthermore, in the graphic settings for the game, the resolution display was showing as custom. Once you change this to a standard resolution, you can re-enable GSync and the game will boot up fine.

Where is that option in the graphics settings of the game?? I can't find anything as Custom there? can you pls elaborate and i'm glad it also worked for you.

After I got into the game, and got into the Graphics settings for me Screen Resolution was marked as Custom for some reason (Possibly due to the fact that on my monitor in windows I was forced to set a 59.5 FPS resolution). Resolution Scale was also set at 75 percent.

I changed both of these. and then exited the game and re-enabled G-Sync in the NVidia control panel.

After this, no more black screens.

This doesn't work for me, RX580 AMD with no Freesync activated.

I had the same issue - when starting the game I could see a brief gray screen and then just stuck on black screen with CPU / GPU under load. Tried a lot of things from google, eventually contacted Focus Entertainment support and described the issue. Then we had over 20 messages discussion back and forth trying different things over a month period.

Eventually we narrowed it down that the culprit was that I had custom video codec pack installed for windows media player and it had some sort of conflict with the game's intro movies. Uninstalling it fixed the issue and game finally launched perfectly. Also I re-enabled G-Sync as it was not the culprit for me.

Hope this also helps somebody in the future.

Could you elaborate more please ? II'm trying to make this game work since one month without sucess and i have also opened a ticket on the Focus Support Website without any answer since the ticket creation (one month also) so i'm wondering what you did exactly to remove WMP codecs and how did you you contact the Focus Entertainment support to be able to have support from them...

UPDATE: for me, moving the game from a HDD to a SDD drive has solved the issue.

I have the same issue too.... black screen after Asobo logo...cpu and gpu under load.... i tried alot of solutions found on google, but notthing worked...more info on the "codec solution" would be great

Update: fixed disabling vertical sync in the nv control panel, only for the game. It work also if you let the app manage it. I thought that solutuon wasn't for me because i dont have gsync monitor, so i dont have the option in the control panel, but changing from the app settings worked.

fo me, after i disabled vsync in game, all works with enabled gsync

I had a black screen after the Logo videos. Changing the global vsync setting in the nvidia panel helped.
