Better. The game itself is a little darker, the characters matured character wise. Graphic and enemy AI improved (the latter still can be better though). Feels like a worthy end to Amicia's and Hugo's story.

Imho worse in every respect (except graphics quality, I guess)

both are great titles in their own right, for me, there are some aspects of requiem that are better in innocence and than there are some aspects of innocence that are better in requiem, if you understand what I mean.

some aspects are added to requiem others are removed compared to innocence, so they are both great

Is it harder?

The riddles are more complex, not necessarily harder. The AI is more capable, yet sometimes still act ridiculous. I'd say it's a bit harder, but will feel mostly the same.

Agree with above, worse in almost every way. Gameplay/crafting/plot. End of innocence was a good end to their story.

So many plot elements are never expanded upon and this protector bull with the order and their mother is so strange. Why isn't Hugo dissected and his blood explored by the order upon his birth to prevent these plagues and control the macula, or any of the de rune family. For an ancient order they're pretty lax about letting 1 life/family survive over whole portions of the world. They know the risks from previous plague(s). Why didn't the parents ever offer explanations or guidance for Amicia if they knew this role was her destiny. Ugh.

I guess the writers are telling their story so we can choose to entertain ourselves with it or not.

Riddles/puzzles are way easier compared to innocents and there’s way less in general.

So is there something better in Requiem than in Innocence?

I just got done beating it on my xbox series x, And I think it improves on a lot. It obviously shares some sling type ammo etc. But I think the story got padded by a lot. Without going into spoilers I felt like it could of ended 3 to 4 hours ago. I cannot complain too much though since Its on xbox gamepass so there is that.

guess you never read the story about the golden goose.
youre a lot less able to learn if you butcher the kid than if you let him live and test him for years. nowadays they would be able to learn a lot more, but is not all science here. the macula is clearly supernatural and for all we know dissipates when seperated from the living host for too long, and in that case killing them would leave you with nothing.
they know ♥♥♥♥ all about it and what set it off after bellisarus exploded and killed half an empire, so they needed to do a lot of work all over again this time.

How’s about the fact that if you inject yourself with the carriers blood, you could also control rats. Oh yeah, that and other plot threads from innocence somehow aren’t relevant anymore.

Well, you can sneak past them but there are forced combat encounters like the first game but more of them in requiem.

there are at least 4 full on combat sections, and when you have arnaud as a companion you can set him on enemies. its very satisfying to have someone bully enemies for you for that one level. hes a total beast....not the beast though thats a different character lol.
