Forced dynamic resolution ????
Hello, I just noticed that for any card that can't activate DLSS, there is a dynamic resolution settings that we can't turn off after the last update. Is it a joke or I'm not getting it right ?

Dynamic resolution is like the worse settings ever for 99% of the PCs and it's now forced ? Any way to get rid of it ?

I'm trying to figure out this same question. The "resolution optimizer" setting does not seem to allow selecting "100%". If anyone has any insight on how to run native resolution other than DLAA, please let me know.
What makes you think is dynamic, its fixed! Its probably a upscaling technice, but yes that fact that it forced sucks. Dynamic means it switched the internal rendering DYNAMICALLY to achieve specific FPS in every scene. DOOM has that. I really miss that out of these modern upscalign techniques. DLSS "Auto" setting is NOT that. it totally stupid and selects a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ setting based on resolution with no reguard for your GPU or anything.

If you are able to use DLSS you can you DLAA that disabled it. But it sucks for everyone else.

This is the exact thing I brought up right after the patch dropped: https://steamcommunity.com/app/1182900/discussions/0/3497635791232265672/

One of my theories was that its just the "resolution scale" renamed. But I now think its more likely its a new upscaling technique. And is doing more then just basic upscaling. The ultra setting seems to not give much performance but of course we can not actually test it if you can not compare to disabled.

Sadly my friend is on a GTX 1070, I was asking for him. I don't have this problem as I'm on a 3070 and use DLSS.
Well for a card that old the setting should be welcomed. Ultra looks really good, it for sure does not scale down as much as DLSS quality does. But it pisses me off that they not care to tell us wtf is actually is and that its forced.

Gotham Knights let you select between 5 different upscaling techs and also lets you disable it of course.

  • DLSS - NVIDIA
  • FSR - AMD but everyone can use it
  • XeSS - Intel but everyone can use it
  • TAAU Gen4
  • TAAU Gen5

Maybe the new setting is TAAU I never heard of it until Gotham Knights. Does not sound like its Unreal Engine specific. https://docs.unrealengine.com/4.27/en-US/RenderingAndGraphics/ScreenPercentage/

I think other games just never spelled it out but used it for their "screen percentage", certainly Unreal Engine games.

I do not think it's XeSS or they would put it in the description. Somebody in another thread claimed he could not achieve the FPS that he got with 75% of the old "Resolution scale" setting.

How much FPS does he even get with a 1070? It should not be forced but for cases that this it should probably be used anyway.

Does FSR has a option that just does AA like DLAA?

use this, it will unlock DLSS (fsr 2.1 to be precise) for non-rtx cards. Then ingame optimizer wont work anymore.
Also i am pretty sure the game had it since release, it was blurry as ♥♥♥♥ even before the update. Just now you can tweak it. Either way completely stupid decision.
