A Plague Tale: Requiem
Is there any chance for a 3rd game?
After I played Innocence and Requiem I've been so touched by these 2 games and I'm really curious if there is any chance of a 3rd game being released.

At the end of Requiem, the last thing we see is a child having the Macula and that child has been born in the modern days because we can hear the machines in the hospital. So if there will be a 3rd game, this game will be following the story of the Macula in the modern days I think.

This was discussed before.

There is definettly a chance, a good chance too.

But, the last official mention goes like "maybe", bellow I will paste a piece of interview posted on Eurogamer, where the developer (Series Director, Kevin Choteau himself) speaks about a third game and the plans for it.
That is the last official information I know about, and I have been observing any clues for a third game on mounthlly basis.

It all begs the question, naturally, of whether there will now be A Plague Tale 3? "I don't know," Choteau says. "I don't know. We've talked [in the game] about what happens next, of course - this is why you have this tiny scene at the end, just to say that it's a never ending cycle."

He pauses, thinking of what to say. "I don't know if the team is ready. I don't know if we have a good thing to say right now. I think we are quite a bit tired of the rats and this kind of story, this kind of mood, so I don't know what will come next, actually. And I'm not doing some lies there, I'm just being honest. The team is still in the enjoyment of the release and they are doing some research on technical things to improve our engine, to improve our tech, working on performance even more to see if we can push it even further, and we are discussing, just discussing."

If there ever is a third game, it would understandably have to be - without Hugo - quite different. Amicia still has a mission she can pursue, but, as Choteau says, "it will change the game and the DNA of the thing because it will be Amicia alone against I don't know what, protecting I don't know what".

"For us, it's hard to figure out right now," he adds. "It's not in the pipe."

But to bring this back to where it all began, what's most important about this whole Plague Tale endeavour is now, Asobo has proven what it can do. With a team of 40, and then a team of 70 (the Flight Simulator team is a bigger, separate thing), Asobo's "artisanal" team, as Choteau calls it, has established that it can create spectacular, original stories that millions of people around the world want to play. Adventures that are on a level with some of the very best out there - the Uncharteds of the world. And that, going all the way back to HoloLens and Fragments, was what it set out to do.

So whether or not it's A Plague Tale 3 that comes next, rest assured something will. "I'm doing everything to make it not stop, every day," Choteau says. "[...] We've done two games that have been liked by people so we want to continue that, we want to be better, to show more stuff, to challenge ourselves also, pushing the limits even further, pushing the tech even further [...] We have many ways to improve, we have many things to showcase again and we want to continue on to that."

Long may it continue.

This was almost 4 months ago, for all we know a development for 3rd game is already underway

I think Plague Tale deserves another game. Because it has a wonderful world and characters. One more game can be made with Amicia, because Amicia has the potential to be one of the best and strongest women characters in the history of the game, I would be very sad if they finish it with only 2 games.

i wouldn't mind new game, but for me the current ending was great and doesn't need anything more.
i'm sure they can make another game with interesting characters too
It was a satisfying ending. all another game would do is have the possibility of leaving a sour taste in our mouths if it doesnt exceed expectations. It would also be hard to do without making the game feel like a large DLC rather than its own thing. i'd be fine with either outcome personally but i wouldnt be disappointed at there not being a 3rd game
Another plague tale game doesn't necessarily need to be a sequel to this game. it could follow the adventures of another carrier of the Macula,

Imagine a one set in a more modern time for example, or even in the future.

We need the modern version based on ending teaser.
Maybe something in A Plague Tale's universe like story of Sophia or Arnaud?

A game/story around both of these characters would be great.

The developers have never made such a statement, only in an interview with Eurogamer that if Requiem is liked, we will make a third game.

That doesn't mean they said no to a third game. He says they're just indecisive and tired of rats. They realize that if it's going to be the third game, it has to be different from the first two games, and they don't know how to do it yet. But I think it will be the third and final game because Requiem has been so successful and loved.

That is bassically the arcticle about what I posted dirrectlly from Eurogammer, except for the finall part that bassically says: "the third game will probablly hapen at some point."
